A Life Lived Full

There are days when I look around at our life and think, we really are living in a little slice of blessing.

Not because of fancy vacations or extravagant outings — truthfully, we don’t live that way. But because our everyday life feels a bit like a mini-vacation in itself.

The energy that fills this home with a constant flow of activities; the full calendar of birthday parties, school sports, cousin days, friends’ events, fishing days, holidays, and family gatherings. There is a steady hum of a life shared with people who love each other deeply.

And sure — some days it feels like a lot. Coordinating schedules, budgeting for activities, saying yes when we’re tired, showing up even when it’s inconvenient. There is planning involved, and sometimes sacrifice. But the richness of living life with purpose, intentionality, and abundance!?

It is worth every bit of effort.

This fullness isn't accidental.

Jesus said:

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

— John 10:10

A full life isn’t measured in money. It isn’t measured in travel or luxury or worldly success. It’s measured in gratitude, joy, connection, and the goodness of God woven through everyday moments. The good days. The noisy houses. The shared meals. The late-night talks. The traditions that pull us together. The memories we’re building in real time. And even the hard times that force connection so that we do not go through life alone.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above…” — James 1:17

Sometimes I think we forget that abundance isn’t something we chase — it’s something we steward. It’s already here. It’s in the people God has placed around us, the life we get to live together, the joy we choose to cultivate by focusing on what matters most.

Abundance doesn’t just arrive, it is a response to intention.

If we want to receive more love — we give more love. If we want deeper connection — we show up more consistently. If we want a richer family life — we pour into the people right in front of us.

And God meets us there!!!

He multiplies it. He fills the spaces we open. He blesses what we commit to in His name.

This Thanksgiving week, I need a little reminder of Paul's instructions in scripture:

“Give thanks in all circumstances…”

— 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Gratitude is the gateway to abundance. Not the other way around. When we choose to cherish the life we’re living — the simple joys, the family gatherings, the busy-but-blessed seasons — our eyes open to how much God has already given us.

Our home is rarely quiet. Our calendar is rarely empty. But our hearts…. they’re full and I wouldn't change the ‘busy abundance!’

That fullness is a gift straight from the Father who delights in giving good things to His children.

Where in your life might God be inviting you to recognize — and give thanks for — the abundance that’s already around you?

Lord, thank You for the beautiful, busy, joy-filled life You’ve given us. Teach me to be grateful in every season and to give freely what I long to receive. Help me live intentionally joyfully and fully in the midst of all the busy. Remind me daily that You are the source of all good things and that it is your desire for us to live more abundantly! Amen.

Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

Until next time, keep following the Plott, and I will be praying for us all. 💛
